The Canadian Classroom on Rails with Arctic Overview / Salle de Classe Ferroviare Canadienne avec Survol Arctique is operated by the Canadian Classroom on Rails Foundation/La Fondation pour la Salle de Classe Ferroviare Canadienne, incorporated October 23, 2014 under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act. The Foundation is registered as a charitable organization (number 82780 0384 RR0001) under the Income Tax Act.
The Foundation is administered by a Coordinator and directors based in Alberta with regional contacts and advisors across Canada. The activities of the Foundation’s working group consist of three main areas and each of these is overseen by a director:
* Program and operations
* Recruitment and publicity
* Finance, funding and audit
Associate Membership in the Foundation is open to all who subscribe to its goals, apply, are approved and pay a $100 annual membership fee.
Associate Membership is conferred gratis on Classroom participants in good standing who have completed all their course requirements.
Voting membership is extended by invitation of the directors to those who have shown an indepth understanding of the Foundation’s goals.
The fiscal year ends October 31 and the annual meeting is held in the fall. Reports including financial statements are posted on this website.
